Questions that tell you a lot
How a provider answers matters as much as what they say.
- Who performs this, and what is their license?
- How were they trained for this treatment?
- What device or product is it, specifically?
- What does a series involve?
- What aftercare do I need?
- What happens if something goes wrong?
- What is the total cost before I start?
Your consultation notes
It helps to treat a consultation like any appointment where you need to make a decision. Bring notes in, and leave with notes.
Going in, have your health history, medications, allergies and past treatments written down, plus your questions. Coming out, write down who you met, what they suggested, the device or product named, the aftercare, and the total cost they quoted. Notes make it much easier to compare providers or sleep on it.
Signs to slow down
Most providers are happy to answer questions and give you time. Be careful if you notice any of these:
- Pressure to book or pay that same day.
- No consultation before treatment.
- Vague answers about who will perform the treatment.
- Unwillingness to put the cost in writing.
You can look up a license with the Florida state board that covers that profession. If something feels off, it is fine to walk away.
